2008 Scholarship Essay Contest
Deadline extended to November 15

ATM / DEBIT Cards Now in Testing Phase

We've been saying for sometime now, that the ATM / DEBIT cards are on their way.  As this edition of the newsletter goes to print, we will be deep into the final testing phase of the project.  Starting up a new project like this is complicated and very detailed, and we want to make sure that all of the details are done right.  Ensuring the safety and integrity of our member's assets is our first priority.

Our goal for the project start up is mid-November.  Members who are interested in participating in the ATM / DEBIT card program will need to open Share Draft accounts (checking) first with the Credit Union.  You can do this now and have everything in place when you apply for your new ATM / DEBIT card when it becomes available in November.

The cards will be MasterCard ATM / DEBIT, that can be used at any CO-OP and STAR system ATMs located in convenient locations around the state.  You will also be able to use your MC ATM / DEBIT card for purchases at any location where DEBIT or credit card transaction machines are available.

Fraud Watch

We recently received a phone call from one of our members asking if we had requested him to change is password for his HCTA OnLine Account.  He did the right thing by calling us to see if the request was legitimate.

The Credit  Union (or any other financial institution) will NEVER ask you for your password, account number or your social security number, by email, or by phone.  Do not call the phone number that they provide.

Call us immediately if you think that your information may have been breached, so that we can flag our account for unlawful activity, or close the account.  If you have had theft you can contact the Federal Trade Commission online at ftc.gov/idtheft or by phone at 1 877-ID-THEFT (438-4338)
